Swimming Lessons at Nitro

On Thursday we went to Addison's first swim lesson at Nitro and we had so much fun.
Addison loves bathtime, so I knew she would love swimming in the pool. There are two other babies in her class, Addison is the youngest by 3 months!
We practiced floating on her back...
Swimming on her tummy...
Getting out of the pool...
Getting in the pool...
Pausing to watch the other swimmers...
Playing games and singing silly songs...
I think this will be a fun activity for Addison and I to enjoy every Thursday!

Snow Day 2010

Addison got to experience her first real snow! We bundled her up in the warmest clothes we could find and took her outside to sit and explore the snow. She seemed very confused, but was smiling and happy! I was amazed at the amount of snow we received, it seriously snowed all day long and the snowflakes were HUGE at times. It was such a blessing and so beautiful to watch.
I went out and played in the snow 5+ times. Brian and I had a snowball fight, I made snow angels and build a pathetic looking snowman. It was a blast!
The picture at the top is one of the most favorite pictures I have taken so far of Addison, she was the cutest little snow angel EVER!
Here is a video of Brian telling about my snowman... he is pretty funny.

And Addison in the snow...

Sweet Addison is 7 Months Old

Wow, every month just gets more and more fun! We have no clue how much she weighs because I am happy to say we did not visit the pediatrician this month! Here next well check is at 9 months. My guess is that she is close to 16 pounds. Since she has been eating solids I have noticed her cute little baby belly has grown a bit.
Fun Facts from the 7th Month:
  • Loves Bathtime
  • Transitioned to a size 3 diaper only because we ran out of size 2 and did not want to buy diapers (we still have not bought a single package of diapers, thank you Dad!)
  • Most 3-6 clothing still fits, but we have started transitioning to 6-9 months
  • So close to crawling - she does the belly crawl, gets on all fours and rocks and does a perfect plank.
  • Chatterbox - She says Mamamamama dadadadada nananana and a bunch of random sounds constantly (I wonder who she got this from). It is fun having "conversations" with her, she thinks it is hilarious.
  • Transitioned her to the high chair for feedings because she is a bumbo excape artist.
  • Loves to stand up, she can stand holding onto the coffee table for 5+ minutes and loves it!
  • She is such a smiley, happy baby girl. The only time she is fussy is when she is tired or hungry.
  • We are dealing with a little seperation anxiety. She likes to be in the same room as me, the minute I leave she gets upset.
  • No stranger anxiety what so ever... in fact, she loves people! I think this has to do with the fact that we have exposed her to so many people since birth and left her in the nursery at church and MOPS since she was 8 weeks.
  • Fasinated by Rodnee and the Roomba vacuum.
  • Loves playing with Daddy... he is so much more fun than Mommy
  • Loves to be outdoors... we go on walks as much as possible and play outside in her exersaucer.
  • Sleeping though the night - 11-12 hours straight
  • Loves to eat
Typical Routine:
  • Wake up between 7 & 7;30
  • Naked Time - Let her play in her room naked for 15-20 minutes (or until she decides it is time for breakfast) since I know she has an empty bladder, she loves it.
  • Breakfast around 9:00- 1 serving fruit, 1 serving veggies, 2 tablespoons of cereal
  • Nap at 1:30
  • Mum Mum & Juice at 4:00
  • Supper at 6:00 - 1 serving fruit, 2 servings of veggies, 2 tablespoons of cereal
  • Bed at 7:30
We fall more and more in love with Addison every day! She is such a blessing!

Valentine's Day

One thing I love is all of Addison's "Firsts" that we get to celebrate as a family and Valentine's Day was no different. Typically Valentine's Day is a low key day for us since our anniversary is on January 24th. While this year was not much different, it was extra special since we got to celebrate it with our sweet baby girl.
Brian and I agreed we would not give presents, he broke the rules and gave me a beautiful stained glass cross and Addison a sweet clay Valentines postcard that says "You Mean So Much to me FOREVER, I Love You". We went to church and listened to a great sermon on love and marriage. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful husband and healthy marriage. Brian and I both strive to set a God honoring example of what marriage should look like so Addison will expect the same when she is older.
After church we went to pickup sushi and went over to Steve and Mihaela's to hang out with them and see their precious baby girl Mica who was only a week and a half old. It was a beautiful day, so we took Addison outside so she could ride in the swing for the first time. She loved it!
We also let her play with the grass, it was so much fun watching her discover and play with the grass. Of course, we pulled the grass out of her hand before she had a chance to eat it.
Staci came over to our house for supper and we had our traditional Pink Shrimp dish and pink cake that I cook every year for Valentine's Day. It was a wonderful day full of love!

Mum Mum's are Yum Yum

A lot of this past month has been revolving around food, among Addison's new favorite things to eat are her Mum Mum snacks. I usually give her one after her afternoon nap along with her sippy cup full of water. The Mum Mums are a fun snack, but they are extremely messy and stick like glue to her clothing, high chair and anything else she touches.

Starting Solids

(Daddy fed her during this feeding)
I know I know... here I am again posting a month apart. Life is super busy, but I promise to do better this month. Can you believe Addison is 7 months? Before I post her monthly update, I will fill you in on some fun things that happened over the last month, the highlight being starting solids....
One of the fun things about Addison turning 6 months is starting her on solid food. We decided to start with sweet potato and it definitely took some getting used to. I am also making her own baby food, which is super easy and lots of fun. It has been fun, comical and sometimes frustrating feeding Addison solids. I love looking at her facial expression when we introduce something new.
Foods Addison is eating right now:
Sweet Potato
Carrots
Squash
Apple
Pear
Peas
Food's Addison is not sure about: Banana's (can you believe it, what baby does not like bananas?)
Avocado
Food Addison will absolutely not eat (although I do believe GG could get her to do it):
Green Beans
