I woof you Mom... But I need a bow...

Brian and I went shopping for Addison recently and got a bunch of cute Fall clothes... Brian saw this sleeper and we had to get it because it says "I Woof You" and had dog feet. It was obviously not in the girl section, but I thought it would work. It is so snuggly soft! So, to "chick" this outfit out, we definitely need a bow...

Finally caught it on video...barely...

Flesh Fest Halloween Party

Last Saturday we hosted a Halloween party at our house... we titled it Flesh Fest because we smoked a bunch of meat and had the guest bring appetizers, side dishes and desserts. It was a lot of fun and the costumes were awesome!

Just a cute picture...

Preschool Pumpkin Festival

On Saturday morning Brian and I volunteered at the Preschool Pumpkin Festival at our church. There was a big turnout and it was fun seeing all the kids in their costumes. Addison wore a cute outfit her Granmommy got for her and just chilled out in her Bumbleride. The lighting was really good and we got a lot great pictures showcasing her beautiful blue eyes.

My New Mom Mobile

Over the weekend Brian and I purchased a 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe LT2... It is AWESOME! Our Toyota Camry was nice, it was just not big enough.
  • Color: Greystone, Black leather interior
  • Can seat up to 8 people
  • Lots of much needed space
  • Bluetooth installed in the vehicle, which will be nice since I tend to talk on the phone and drive a lot.
  • Parking Assist (so I won't back into things)
  • Safer

Anyways, we are super excited! It will be so nice to have the extra space and to be able to seat more people. All of the details went in our favor for this purchase and the Tahoe will be in the family (or business) for many years to come!

Chillin' in her Robeez

Addison is finally able to wear the cute Robeez shoes her Great Grandma got her! They are still a little big, but that's OK. One thing Addison needs is some shoes... I think I need to go shopping.

Plotting her next move...

Fun Times With Auntie Staci

Last night Auntie Staci came over to hang out with Addison. We ate yummy green chili stew, watched TV and played with Addison. It was a fun night!
Addison always holds her Daddy's thumbs when they bounce on the ball...so cute.

Trying to Eat the Monkey

Addison loves her play mat and we play on it several times a day. She has started grabbing the toys and tries to put them in her mouth... this is a new skill that is not quite mastered. The video also features some of her newer sounds. She changes everyday and we are just trying to keep up with it all!

The Exersaucer

Today I introduced Addison to her Baby Einstein exersaucer... She has been wanting to stand up a lot, so I thought she would enjoy this new toy. She had fun looking and touching all the toys. She tired out after a few minutes, but I think the exersaucer will be a good way to develop her senses and strengthen her muscles. We will play in it several times a day!

Fun Day with Amanda and Baby Judah

Today Amanda and Baby Judah came over to do Addison's 3 month photos and it was such a wonderful day. Addison did so good during the shoot, we got some really cute pictures. Amanda is a great photographer and is so good with kids! Check out her website at http://www.vagabondstyle.com/photography.html.
Addison and Judah are only one day apart and it was so much fun watching them play together. Here is a link to Addison and Judahs story, http://thebetzens.blogspot.com/2009/07/baby-judah-escape-artist.html It was also nice having some time with Amanda! We hung out at the house and then went on a short stroll around the neighborhood.
Look, they are trying to hold hands...
Addison is trying to steal Judah's pacifier...
Just for fun... here is a picture of Addison and Judah before we were discharged from the hospital.

Lightweight Stroller

Brian and I are taking Addison on her first airplane trip to Hereford November 13th-15th. I love love love my Bumbleride stroller, but it would be too big and bulky to take on the trip. So, we decided to purchase a smaller, lightweight stroller. I did a ton of research and found the Maclaren strollers to be the best, not only for the high quality, but the handles are higher, which will make pushing the stroller easier for Brian and I since we are tall.
Unfortunately most lightweight strollers are made for babies 6 months and up because they don't have multiple seat positions. I took Addison to Babies R Us to test drive these strollers because I was hoping the less expensive Volo model would work... it didn't. Poor baby girl slumped right over :(
I decided to purchase the Maclaren Triumph Stroller. The hot pink & black stroller was very tempting, but I decided to go with the more practical brown and blue (in case there is a baby boy in our future).
Weight: 11 Pounds
Multiple Seat Positions Carry Strap One-Hand Fold Up to 55 Pounds

Removal of the Newborn Insert

Addison has been looking a little squished in her car seat lately, I did some research on Chicco's website and found out I was supposed to remove her newborn inserts at 11 pounds... 1 pound too late... oops. Anyways she looks like such a big girl!
Just for comparison, the picture below is Addison in her car seat when we brought her home from the hospital. Look at the difference between her head and the Chicco logo in both pictures.

Good Morning Stretches

Addison sleeps swaddled every night... so every morning since we brought her home from the hospital we do stretches when we unswaddle her. It has been a fun family tradition and it is so cute to watch. We recorded our stretching time this morning, Addison is in an extra good mood so there is a lot of stretching, talking and smiling. Enjoy!

Video of Addison "Talking"

Addison has some of her best conversations on the changing table downstairs. It is by the back door and she just loves to look at the light and talk away.

Happy 3 Months Baby Girl

Today Addison is 3 months old... I cannot believe it! I started thinking about how much she has grown and changed over these past few months. We are just overwhelmed by this beautiful gift God has given us! I am ready for another one!
Our next well check with the pediatrician is not until she turns 4 months, but I did take her in earlier this week because I thought she might have an ear infection (I was wrong). Addison weighed in at 12 pounds 2 ounces (50th percentile) and looks great. Even though her ears were clear, I was able to talk to the Pediatrician about some other things like irregular naps, reflux, skin rash, etc. I also got my H1N1 vaccine.
Fun Facts:
  • Addison still fits into her 0-3 month clothes really well. I think she has a short torso and long legs like me. We will start transitioning to the 3-6 month clothes in the next few weeks.
  • She still sleeps through the night (most nights).
  • Naps are becoming more irregular.
  • She loves look at everything! She loves the outdoors looking at all the plants and trees.
  • She has become quite the chatterbox and makes new sounds everyday. She does most of her talking during feedings (feedings now take forever to complete because this) and on her changing table downstairs.
  • She loves looking mirrors.
  • Praise Baby DVD's are a life saver!
  • She is enjoying her play mat and has started grabbing the toys.
  • She is obsessed with sucking on her fists, which means yucky hands and drool drenched clothing.
  • She loves her bear lovey that has been named "Bo Bo" by GG.
  • She started rolling over at around 10 weeks, she does not do it often
  • She "stands" a lot more (I guess the squats are paying off).
  • Still takes a bottle once a day.
  • We started putting her in preschool at church. It is a nice break for both of us. She does pretty well.. the church staff is learning her quirky ways and they love having her!
  • I take her for a walk at least once a day, sometimes 2-3 times.

Addison - 2 Month photos

I'd like to share my Snapfish photos with you. Once you have checked out my photos you can order prints and upload your own photos to share.

Addison 2 Months

Yes, I realize that tomorrow Addison will be 3 months, so I decided I better hurry and blog about her 2 month appointment. Nothing like procrastinating! I swear I want to start blogging again, I just have been so busy with being a mom, part-time work (which has been closer to full time lately), a wife and saving a little time for myself. Here are Addison's stats from her two month appointment on 9/18: Weight: 10 Pounds 15 ounces (50th Percentile) Height: 23 Inches (75th Percentile) Head Circumference: 38.5cm (50th Percentile) Addison is long and lean! She got her shots at this appointment and they went awful. She screamed bloody murder and threw up her Rotavirus vaccine. I felt awful for putting her through so much.
Fun Facts from Month 2:
She started sleeping though the night at 6 weeks.
She started taking a bottle, we give her one a day to keep it consistent.
She definitely knows who Brian and I are.
She smiles and laughs.
She is a talker.
Her head and back are really strong. We also do squats daily to strengthen her legs.
Started sitting in her bumbo.
Loves bath time.
LOVES watching Praise Baby DVD.
Enjoys watching TV.
Loves her play mat.
We still swaddle her every night and stretch every morning.
Addison is pure joy. While some days are more challenging then others, we cannot imagine life without her.
