Addison's 1/2 Year Birthday Party

Last Sunday, we decided to have a small party with close friends and family to celebrate Addison's 1/2 birthday. The guest of honor was Judah, who was born a day before Addison.

For decorations, I displayed some of my favorite clothing, pictures and shoes.

I got cupcakes from Hey Cupcake, they were delicious! Addison received her first kiss from Judah, they are so sweet together... Addison got a taste of a red velvet cupcake...

For the game, I did a "How Well Do You Know Addison?" game. Here are the questions:

6 Month Well Check

Yesterday we went to see Dr. Sperling for Addison's 6 month well check. Addison was so much fun (until she got her shots of course).

She played with Daddy in the lobby...

Tried to eat his name badge...

Had fun on the scale...

And had a BLAST playing with the paper on the table...

Here are her stats:

15 Pounds, 4 Ounces: 30-35th Percentile

26.5 Inches: 75th Percentile

Head: 42cm: 40-45th Percentile

Overall, Addison is very long and very lean! She checked out perfectly during her physical exam as well. Other notes from the visit are that we will be starting solids and decided to take her off her reflux medicine.

We feel so blessed to have such a happy, healthy baby girl.

Addison - 6 Months!

It is hard to believe that Addison is already 6 months old, I spent some time reading the blog posts since her birth and it is amazing how far we have all come!

• When she was a newborn I would put her on her play mat and she would stare at the toys dangling over her head.... Now she tries with all her might to rip them off the mat!
• She used to scream at the sight of a bottle... now she gets excited and is ready for the liquid gold.
• We used to swaddle her up tight for naps and nighttime, now she sleeps in a sleep sack and roams freely in the crib.
• She used to sleep only on her back, now she prefers her side or tummy.
• She used to be a Mommy's girl, but now she is a Daddy's girl by far.
• She used to stay wherever I would put her down, now the rolls all over the place!
• She used to have a colicky cry, now she is full of smiles and laughs!

Fun Facts for the 6th Month:

• Loves facing out so she can see the world.
• Can sit up for 30+ minutes (if she wants)
• Got her two front teeth for Christmas
• Eats 2 tablespoons of cereal in the morning and 3 tablespoons in the evening.
• She still loves her Praise Baby DVD’s.
• Wears a size 2 diaper and most 3-6 month clothing is still big on her.
• Loves bath time and recently learned to splash.
• Laughs and smiles so much! Loves playing with her tongue and makes a lot of silly faces and sounds.
• Discovered her voice, she is getting louder and louder everyday! She also is making so many new sounds and is quite the talker.
• Loves playing with Daddy… they fly in the air, bounce and swing around… You can tell when she has too much fun because her last meal sometimes comes back up.
• Finally started sleep training and she is sleeping almost 12 hours with minimal fuss.

This past month has been so much fun and know there is a lot more fun to come!

I simply adore this picture of Addison. It shows her new smile, which I think

looks very cheesy (and cute) and her two front teeth. God bless our sweet baby girl, who will be 6 months tomorrow.

The latest babble

Below is a video of Addison's latest baby babble... it shows her getting used to her voice, responding to her name and our happy child! The video is a bit long and repetitive, sorry. We took the video a few weeks ago and it is amazing how much her sounds have already changed.

The "Bow" Picture

One of my favorite baby pictures of me is from my 1st Christmas when my parents put all the bows from the presents on me and my bouncer. I was almost 4 months old in this picture.

I knew I wanted to recreate this picture with Addison for her first Christmas. With Addison being 5 1/2 months and very active, this picture was harder to get than I initially planned. She thought hitting the bows off the bouncer and trying to eat the bows was a lot more fun.

Here is the first shot... not smiling, but it gives you an idea of the amount of bows I was working with (overkill, yes I know).

Happy New Year

Happy New Year Everyone!

On New Year's Eve, we had a low key night at our house with our friend's Steve & Mihaela. We ate yummy food, lit fireworks, played the Wii. Brian and Mihaela fell asleep on the couch around 10:30, so we decided to call it midnight somewhere, did our toast and went to bed.

On New Year's Day we went to my parents to hang out with the family. We ate our spinach and black eyed peas along with a lot of other delicious food.

2010 has started off great and I cannot wait to see what the new year will bring!
