DeDaddy's 90th Birthday

Easter Sunday was my DeDaddy's 90th birthday. After eating a yummy meal with my family, we went to his skilled nursing facility in Lakeway to visit him and give him some banana pudding that my Aunt made. It was a great visit! Dedaddy was in good spirits and enjoyed reading all of his cards. Having the family there to celebrate his milestone birthday was special as well. Happy Birthday DeDaddy!

Babyproofing... Oh What Fun!!!

Addison is getting into EVERYTHING now that she can speed crawl and pull up using pretty much anything she can get her hands on (my favorite is when she uses my hair to stand up...NOT). We have officially entered the "when she is quiet she is probably into something she should not be" stage. With that being said we have done a lot of babyproofing lately. My dad recently installed Tot Loks on all my lower kitchen and bathroom cabinets downstairs. These locks are awesome and require a magnet to open the cabinet, which is sometimes a pain when you have an arm full of dishes to put away, but we are getting used to them. I feel comfortable knowing that is is nearly impossible for her to get into the cabinets and that we will not be dealing squished fingers. Thank you Dad!
Our other main issue was that Addison started climbing the stairs, the highest she has climbed is stair #4, which is so scary! It is amazing what she can accomplish being unsupervised for only a few minutes. After a long search, we finally found the perfect baby gate, it is made by dreambaby. It is priced lower than some I have purchased and works great!
I have also learned that I cannot have anything on my coffee table, end tables, etc. She loves anything and everything that she is not supposed to touch! Babyproofing is definately a learn as you go process, I just was not prepared to be hit with so much so fast!
Addison is growing up and is so curious about everything, it is fun watching her explore and discover new things even if they are things she should not be touching.

Spring Flowers

A few weeks ago we took Addison out to get pictures with the bluebonnets and the beautiful yellow flower plant at my parents house that blooms only once a year. We were able to get some cute shots!

8 Months!

This past month has been a whirlwind of excitement! Addison is so much fun and we just love her so much.
Fun facts from the month:
  • Started crawling at 7 months 1 week
  • Pulling Up
  • Can go to a sitting position on her own
  • Says mama and dada
  • Other sounds are baba, eh, ssssssssssssssss, grunting and a fierce growling sound
  • Finally figured out the jumperoo
  • Sleeping though the night 7:30pm to 7:00am
  • Still only have the two bottom teeth but I think more are coming soon.
  • Nap twice a day for about 1-2.5 hours each time
  • Sign language is not going well, probably because Mommy is so inconsistent
  • Love the outdoors
  • Started going to the park... loves to swing
  • Experienced her first real snow
  • Started swimming lessons
  • Loves standing up... balance is getting so much better and she does the walking motion when you hold her hands.
  • Had a long overnight stay at Grandpa and GG's and did so well!
New foods she is eating:
Green beans, banana, mango, zuchinni
I am excited about the 8th month because we can start feeding Addison chopped up pieces of meat. I never could stomach pureeing animal flesh and the store bought stuff smelled like dog food.

Buns Up

Last week I went to wake Addison up from her nap (yes I know I am crazy) and found her with her buns up. I thought it was too cute not to share.

It's Official!

Addison is crawling! She started on Thursday evening and has progressed more and more every day! I think she loves being able to crawl to me when she needs me or going to get a far away toy that she wants to play with. Poor thing has rug burn on her knees, not sure what to do about that. We were not quite ready for this stage even though I knew it was coming. Outlet plugs and cord covers are on their way, we will also be rearranging some furniture to limit access to cords. Needless to say our Roomba will be working in overdrive keeping the floors clean. I will get a good video of her crawling later today and will post it on the blog.
